Combat Support Hospitals

Mobile combat-ready units generally are co-located on Army posts with major combat units. These units are assigned to support the combat medical mission of these commands. These transportable field hospitals are called upon to support troop deployments. Recently, Combat Support Hospitals have been engaged in non-traditional combat scenarios such as providing humanitarian assistance, peace keeping, and other stability and support operations. During deployments, most clinical professional and support personnel come from the Army Medical Department's fixed facilities.
