Colonel
Medical Service Corps colonels contribute to the Army Medical Department by serving in a variety of critical assignments such as a commander at a brigade, hospital, or installation; directorate chief in the Office of The Surgeon General or as consultants. Colonels may also serve as senior staff officer in the Department of Defense, Health Affairs and Department of the Army. Health Services officers may also be assigned as a Chief of Staff in medical brigades or medical centers. Allied Science officers may be assigned to direct research and investigation programs for the Army.
