Field Artillery Captain's Career Course (FACCC)


The next step in your development as a Field Artillery Officer is attendance at the Field Artillery Captain's Career Course at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. The 18 week course provides intense instruction to prepare captains to assume positions as battery commanders and fire support officers.

The following are some of the key areas covered in the course:

-- You will learn the operations of the Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data Systems (AFATDS) -- that is the core multi-service automated command and control system for fire support operations.

-- During the Automated Fire section you will study how to evaluate fire missions and verify the computations of all safety data.

-- You will also study cannon battery functions, communications, fire support, field artillery operations, MLRS operations, principles of fire direction, and other skills in the core curriculum that are critical to a Field Artillery captain.
