Those Chemical officers who demonstrate exceptional leadership and executive abilities are selected to be General Officers. In command positions they may serve as the Commandant, US Army Chemical School/Chief of Chemical Corps or as the Commander, US Army Soldier and Biological Chemical Command. In staff positions General Officers in the Chemical Corps serve at the highest level of the Army and in Joint Commands.
