2nd Lieutenant

After completing the ADA Officer Basic Course, officers are assigned to platoon leader positions in one of many types of air defense units to gain leadership experience and enhance the training they have already received. They could be assigned to a light or heavy division (SLAMRAAM, Avenger, and Sentinel) or echelon-above-division (Patriot or Theater High Altitude Area Defense) battery. Females can now serve as platoon leaders in Avenger general support and headquarters batteries and battalions of heavy divisional air defense battalions.
