1st Lieutenant

First Lieutenants can expect to work in the following developmental duty positions: platoon leader, battery executive officer (XO), tactical control officer (TCO) (Patriot, THAAD, GMD), Liaison Officer (LNO), and battalion staff officer. Females can now serve on staff and as battery executive officers and platoon leaders in Avenger general support and headquarters batteries and battalions of heavy divisional air defense battalions. During this time, officers focus on acquiring and refining troop leading, tactical, technical, logistical, and administrative skills.
